What is the age range for my child to take class?

For the Get On Stage Little Limelights MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES – we teach ages 3 to 7 years old. For the Get On Stage DRAMA CLASSES – we teach elementary and middle school ages. COMING SOON: For the Get On Stage DRAMA SHOW CHOIR – that will be middle School ages.

Where will my child take classes?

The Get On Stage Little Limelight musical theater program for ages 3 to 7 takes place in daycare centers and elementary schools.

Get On Stage Drama is an after-school program. The classes take place in Elementary and middle schools and community centers.

Does my child have to have experience in acting, singing, or dancing?

There is NO experience required to enroll your child in ANY of the Get on Stage classes.

Can I enroll my child in Get On Stage classes at any time?

Yes, we have continual open enrollment, so you can enroll your child at any time on a month-to-month basis. This includes: the Get On Stage Little Limelight musical theater program for ages 3 to 7, and the Get On Stage drama classes. COMING SOON: The Get On Stage drama show choir WILL NOT have open enrollment. These will be session classes that go from one session to the next. Each session is one school semester.

How long are the classes?

The Get On Stage Little Limelight musical theater classes are 45 minutes long. The Get On Stage Drama classes are 1 hour long. COMING SOON: The Get On Stage drama show choir classes will be 90 minutes long.

How much are classes?

The Get On Stage Little Limelight musical theater and the Get On Stage Drama class prices vary by age and school grade. Please check the registration page for your child’s age and school grade.

Do you teach voice lessons?

We do not offer voice lessons. We teach your child fun, popular, well-known songs with age-appropriate lyrics. Your child will sing to fun, popular, well-known songs with age-appropriate lyrics. Some songs will be with music, some acapella, and some four-part Harmony depending on what program your child is in.

Do you teach Dance lessons?

We do not offer dance lessons. We teach your child fun dance choreography to go with some of the songs. Your child will learn fun dance choreography to go with some of the songs depending on what program your child is in.

Do you teach drama/acting classes?

We do not offer drama/acting classes. We teach your child fun drama games. Your child will enjoy fun drama games along with short improve skits depending on what program your child is in.

What will my child be doing in class?

We have fun and engaging activities for your child in class. Classes kick off with introduction activities that prepare students mentally and physically. These include articulation exercises, volume control, and posture work, all while encouraging creativity and spontaneity. Your child will have a fun and amazing time learning and being creative. There will also be singing and dancing in some classes depending on which program your child is in.

Do we have to buy expensive costumes for performances/showcases?

We do not ask for you to buy any expensive costumes for performances/showcases. We keep things simple. A few props, some items from home, and a colorful t-shirt (provided upon registration) paired with pants your child can freely move in. Girls are welcome to wear skirts with shorts underneath if they like. This will make up their costume, ensuring a stress-free preparation.

Can we watch any of the classes?

To ensure a comfortable environment for all students, we do not allow parents to observe regular classes. However, we will host our end-of-session free showcases where parents, family, and friends are welcome to see their children perform.

Is the first class free?

Yes, the first trial class is always free. We invite your child to come enjoy a fun and engaging class with us. If your child enjoys the class and would like to come back, then you are free to register your child for classes. The only program we will offer that does not have a free trial class, is the Get On Stage drama show choir. This is because it will be a (semester) session-to-session class which does not allow for a free trial class.

Does the performance/showcases cost money?

We do not charge anything for performances/showcases. We want you, family members, and friends, to be able to come and enjoy watching your child’s performance/showcase for free.
